Statement By Geri D. Palast on the 2007 Broad Prize For Urban Education

CFE's Executive Director calls on the Mayor and the Chancellor to seize momentum for further school reform

“The 2007 Broad Prize for Urban Education granted today to the City of New York is high praise and serves as motivation to continue to implement ground-breaking reforms, to further improve academic achievement and provide every student with the right to a sound basic education. We both congratulate Chancellor Klein and Mayor Bloomberg and take pride in these achievements. CFE is eager to join together with the City in making the next leap in student achievement. There is still much work to be done, and the new state funding and reform law brings more resources, accountability and public engagement to the Department of Education to add to this momentum.”
